History of the UK Forum

The UKFHD started as an informal group of interested parties in the 1980’s and has expanded mirroring the growing awareness of inherited red cell disorders. While standards of care have improved over the last thirty years there is still much to do to reduce inequities in health provision and to ensure that new developments are translated into improvements in care.

We encourage membership and engagement from all interested parties. As of mid 2021 we have over 300 members including nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, psychologists, patients and patient advocates.
