DESCRIPTION:Nursing\, Midwifery & Palliative Care \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse overview\nThis study day is for non-specialist nurses\, midwives and health visitors who would like to understand the haemoglobinopathies screening programme. \nApplication deadline: 04 October 2026 \n\n\n\n\n\nCourse features\nThis study day is for non-specialist nurses\, midwives and health visitors who would like to: \n\ndevelop an understanding of the antenatal and newborn sickle cell and thalassaemia screening programme in England\ngain a basic knowledge of sickle cell and thalassaemia and how these conditions are inherited\nlearn how to interpret screening results\nunderstand the structures which support and maintain the quality of the programme\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry requirements\nThis study day is not suitable for specialist practitioners. \nThe course is funded by the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme and is free to applicants. \nTeaching Schedule\nWednesday 21/10/2026 – London – venue will be shared with participants by 14/10/26 \n(this session is face to face and in London) \nThursday Date TBC – Manchester (venue TBC) \n(this session is face to face and in Manchester) \nThe maximum capacity for each study day is 35 \nApply Now
